Indonesia is sinking!
The subsidence and cracking land are happening in a mountainous region in the Sewu Mountains of Indonesia. Dozens of Hamlets in Bantul were evacuated on Monday morning, Feb 11 because the land on which their homes sits not only moved continuously, but also dropped. The land has been shaking continuously for days forcing residents to flee their homes for safety's sake.
Not only has land subsided, but also cracks nearly 100 feet (30 meters) long have appeared in the ground.

One of the displaced residents, Paryanto, said the land movement and subsidence has been going on for days, since last Thursday. According to Paryanto, at first, the ground moved as if there was an earthquake, but the movement did not stop and continued until Sunday night, accompanied by sinking land.
Village headman Sriharjo, Edi Gunawan, said Monday that four houses slid into the subsidence. (source)
