Just over an hour southeast of the twin cities, Rochester welcomed the Indigo Girls Tuesday night, April 20th.
There were hardly any empty seats at 7:30pm and gay women groups from Minneapolis came down to listen. A lot of the fans were from Minneapolis and surrounding cities, as that was not a stop on this particular tour.
The concert took place at the May Civic Center and made for a great venue. The sound was excellent and lighting and background fitting for the smaller center.
Cheers were constant and the time between songs was flooded with requests and Emily and Amy tried to honor every one.
The Indigo Girls dedicated one of their songs to a girl with cancer that was too sick to come but her parents were in the audience.
Fans will drive more than an hour to see their favorite band and Minnesotans showed to be devoted fans. See the Indigo Girls website for tour information.
