Indie RPG 'Hammerwatch' releases demo on Steam

On Mar. 6, 2013, a public beta/demo for the upcoming indie dungeon-crawler, "Hammerwatch," released on Steam's Greenlight page. The Gauntlet-inspired RPG has since gone through some closed beta testing, removing bugs and updating features, but is now confident enough for public testing.

Players can choose to play solo or co-op through the game's first act, complete with all the secrets, items and an end-level boss. The co-op supports up to four players via LAN, local and online making the game even more exciting as enemies swarm in from all angles to combat. The game does not feature all available classes in the demo and will only allow you to choose three from the possible four. The RPG includes a "Survival" level that pits the player in an arena with dozens of enemies, summoning and assaulting until the player cannot hold them back. If gamers are interested in tweaking aspects of the game, "Hammerwatch" will also support Modding, allowing players to build their own levels and a variety of other things.

The "Hammerwatch" demo is available for downloading on Steam at a size of around 30MB. The full version is scheduled for release in the second quarter of 2013 for PC, Mac, and Linux.
