Hard Rock Café representatives let us know on September 18, 2013, that the Scottish indie-rock band, Frightened Rabbit has just been selected as Hard Rock’s “Artist of the Month.” To commemorate this honor, the band will be at Hard Rock Cafe Seattle to perform a live acoustic set and donate items to Hard Rock’s large music memorabilia collection September 20 at 6:00 p.m. Band members Scott Hutchison and Grant Hutchison will give Hard Rock Seattle a guitar used during their Red Rocks Amphitheatre show, as well as the “T in the Park 2013” set list.
Hard Rock’s “Artist of the Month” program provides artists with a new medium to share their latest video releases at Hard Rock Cafes in over fifty countries around the world. Each month, Hard Rock selects one select musician or band to have their music video play more than 1,000 times a day, 8 times a day on 2,500 screens inside Hard Rock’s 125 cafe locations around the world.
This month, Hard Rock Cafe has selected a collection of Frightened Rabbit’s videos, including the hit song, “The Woodpile”. (See video this page.) Frightened Rabbit’s brand new five-track EP, entitled “Late March, Death March” was released on September 10, 2013, with a slightly different tracklisting than in the UK:
1. Late March, Death March
2. Radio Silence
4. Default Blues
5. The Oil Slick (live at Barrowlands)
The band also recently kicked off a North American tour, including tonight September 19, 2013, and tomorrow the 20th at the Paramount in Seattle. There are still tickets available.
