There has never been a better time to be alive. Think about it. For the past 200,000 years, ever since the dawn of womankind, life pretty much progressed at a constant rate of zero. We'd gather some berries, draw on cave walls, kill members of neighboring clans. Same ol' same ol.' Then about 5,000 years ago the first "modern" civilizations appeared. A couple centuries ago, we were in the midst of the Industrial Revolution. Not even two decades ago the internet became mainstream. And because of the internet, we can enrich our lives in ways that are nearly unfathomable. Knowledge is power and, unlike any generation that has come before, we can instantly learn about ANYTHING we want. New languages. Computer programming. Infinite career skills. Or, like me, you could waste endless hours on music blogs downloading new music, half of which you'll probably never even listen to.
So, in order to celebrate this revolutionary thing called the interwebz, I'm sharing five of my favorite mp3 blogs with you.
Are you a fan of house and electronic music? Well, why not? You should be, because what else are you going to listen to at parties? Carrie Underwood? If you ever want to put on your dancing shoes, make sure to grab some tracks from the link above first.
This is a really cool mp3 blog, because unlike most others, it has some personality. The guy who runs this site clearly puts a lot of thought into his posts. He also occasionally writes book and DVD reviews, so if you're into that kind of thing, this is a good place to go.
Here's another one with nicely written reviews. There's a strong readership on this blog that comments frequently, which is great if you like getting multiple perspectives at once. A unique thing about Aquarium Drunkard is that it regularly features music from various decades. Ample opportunity to catch up on classics you might've otherwise missed.
Do you like playlists? Of course you do! Otherwise you wouldn't be here. Motel de Moka puts out some doozies. Unfortunately, the entries on this blog aren't all that frequent. But the playlists they do put together are perfect when you're in a chill, ambient, wine-sipping mood.
I regularly feel like I'm floating, which probably makes me biased to liking I Guess I'm Floating. But I really can't get enough of this blog. Always find gems on it. Float on over too if you wanna know what all the indie hipster cool kids are listening to. (Hint: this blog.)
