Already, 2014 is gearing up to be the best music year ever. I can't stop finding glittery golden nuggets, such as Little Daylight's "Glitter and Gold." I played this track at a party the other week and everyone in the room immediately started to dance. I guarantee you, putting on this track will make you bop around.
I totally lust for this song. But I can't tell which is better -- the original, or the Cosmic Setter Remix. (Both are posted in the SoundCloud link.) This is the first I've heard of Hospital, an indie band from Russia, and there's not a whole lot of info out there about them yet. But based on this single alone, I'd say they're somebody to watch.
The lead singer of this electronic/dance band, Daniel Anderson, sounds a lot like Kele Okereke of Bloc Party. That alone would probably make me like the song, since Bloc Party is one of my top ten favorite bands of all time. But the sparkling percussion of this chillwave track make it all the better.
(So does this free Bandcamp download!)
Let's take a break from the heavily synthed out songs for a few minutes. The Little Ones have a poppy, somewhat folky Lumineers' type of vibe. Their warm, sun-crisped indie pop will put a smile on your face and some pep in your step.
Bombay Bicycle Club has a knack for making uplifting catchy songs, and "Luna" is no different. This brilliant dazzler is off their fourth studio record So Long, See You Tomorrow, which was just released a couple of weeks ago. The euphoric vocal harmonies in this track have got me saying, "So long, see you right now!" I'm headed over to Amazon to purchase the band's album. If you like your music like you like your women, beautiful and fun, you should purchase it too!
