Indianapolis Scouts:Getting "up close" with the Indians

For the second time this season, the Indianapolis Indians are hosting a scout night at Victory Field.  The first such event occurred on 6/4/2010 as the Tribe blanked the Columbus Clippers 5-0.  With a win over the Mud Hens tonight, the Indians will pull even in the standings with divisional rival Toledo.

Local scouts won't soon forget the nights events.  The festivities begin with the game which is followed by an amazing fireworks display.  After the non-scouting crowd has been dismissed, scouts and their families are invited to grab their camping supplies and settle in on the concourse or lawn areas for a camp-out.  An age and theme appropriate movie will be displayed on the jumbo screen while the kids enjoy a late night snack.  Once the movie has ended, there will be about an hour to wind down and get everyone settled in for the night.  At that point, the majority of the lights will extinguished and the stadium announcer will wish all a good night.

This event is not recommended for those looking to turn in early and sleep soundly all night.  The last event demonstrated that lights-out does not typically occur until nearly 2 a.m. and that everyone is expected to be packed up and gone by 8 a.m..  Breakfast is provided and the staff could not be more friendly.  Unleash your inner child and get outside for a night of baseball, fireworks and, most importantly, fun.

Rob is the proud father of five wonderful children aged one through 10. Four of the five kids are boys. Of those, three are cub scouts. The one-year-old is undecided but definitely looks good in the uniform. Needless to say, the Howell family will be supporting their local Pack for many years...
