If you have participated in any networking events around Indianapolis, you have probably come across Blake Ensign. Everyone I meet seems to know him. From traditional marketing to social media to affiliate marketing, Ensign is the master at teaching others how to market their brands.

Ensign is the founder of Blaze Communications, a graphic design and video production studio for online and offline marketing methods. He helps entrepreneurs and sales professionals write marketing plans and create brand-appropriate marketing materials for use both in print media as well as on blog sites. He believes that companies must have an online component to be seen as a legitimate business. Primarily, it helps businesses get found via effective promotion and publicity.

Although Ensign connects with colleagues and others in his field via Twitter and LinkedIn, much of his time is spent meeting locally to help others. As the founder of the Business Strategy & Technology Forum, he holds educational networking sessions every two weeks in the Arts & Design District of Carmel. Business owners come from as far as Kokomo to learn about economic trends, marketing methods, social media strategy, and technological advancements that will help them grow their businesses. Ensign also meets with affiliate marketers at the monthly Affiliate Summit Indianapolis meetups.

On May 1, 2012, Ensign will be delivering an interactive message called "Blaze Your Brand, Increasing Your Social Equity Value." The presentation will be through Linking Indiana, an Indianapolis networking organization.

The best advice Ensign said that he could offer any business, entrepreneur or independent sales professional is that "no matter what the industry is, write on a paper a marketing plan. If you do not know how, work with someone. Planning and implenting a gradual plan is what turly builds long term success."

Ensign takes his own branding message seriously with his three "pet dragons." Blaze, the blue dragon featured in his company logo, helps burn images in the darkroom. His brother, Brimstone, the red dragon, assists motivating clients with continuous improvement programs. The third, Drake the Dramatic Dragon (a Winged European cousin), is featured in many of Ensign's blog posts.

Learn more about Ensign and his business at his website, Blaze Communications, where his tagline is "Cool Marketing, Hot Branding."
