Indianapolis Colts 2010 organized team activities: Five questions at the midway point of OTAs (p2)

4. Can Pat McAfee improve in 2010? He strongly believes so, and if that's the case, the Colts could have a real weapon on special teams. McAfee, a seventh-round selection in the 2009 NFL Draft, spoke late last season of his belief that he can improve from his rookie season. That's because he only began punting seriously in college, and he said he has only begun to realize his potential. McAfee helped improve the Colts' special teams last season, not only as a punter but as a kickoff specialist. If he can improve, he could potentially be among the league's best at both positions, and that could give Indianapolis an edge in those categories it hasn't had in more than a decade.

5. What role with DE Keyunta Dawson play? This is a way of addressing the Colts' defensive end situation, but it will be intriguing to see how the Colts address the position beyond starters Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis. Rookie Jerry Hughes will certainly play a role, but he's a pass rusher first and likely won't be a replacement for departed Raheem Brock. An eight-year veteran, Brock played extensively as a backup and although he wasn't spectacular, he was solid and reliable. Dawson potentially could play a similar role, and the Colts have spoken of rookie seventh-round selection Ricardo Mathews playing a key role on the line.
