Indiana State Museum Showcases President Lincoln's Life With Rare Exhibits

This has been one of the anticipated events of the year; The Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Exhibition - With Malice Toward None - now running through Mid April at the Indiana State Museum. And, because this is such a amazing exhibit it is suggested that you get a timed ticket for this special exhibit.

Indianapolis is one of the five U.S. cities showcasing the Library of Congress exhibit that features the Bible upon which Lincoln and, most recently, President Obama took the oath of office; the contents of Lincoln’s pockets the night he was assassinated; as well as letters, photographs, maps, sketches, political cartoons, period engravings, speeches and artifacts from Lincoln's political career and presidency.

During The Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Exhibition - With Malice Toward None Exhibit the Indiana State Museum will stay open for extended hours February through April.

Also on exhibit from Mid February through Mid July is With Charity for All: The Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection. Valued at more than $20 million, this is the world's largest private collection of memorabilia from Abraham Lincoln's personal and presidential life. It will be housed at the Indiana State Museum in Indianapolis and the Allen County Public Library (ACPL) in Fort Wayne.

Who was Abraham Lincoln? Since his birth on a farm in the Kentucky wilderness some 200 years ago, Lincoln lore has transformed him into an almost mythological figure. With Charity for All: The Lincoln Financial Foundation Collection highlights artifacts that paint a picture of an ordinary man who rose to become, perhaps, the greatest leader in American history.
