The good die young and never has a statement been as true as it is for the short but wonderful heroic life of Aubrey Peters. Aubrey is being mourned in her Indiana town of Noblesville after being tragically shot to death by a reckless 20 year-old man, Jacob Travis McDaniel, on Sunday, according to the Indy Star.

To many in Noblesville, the heroics of this young honor student shall forever be engraved in the memories of her devoted town after she saved the life of “two children who fell through ice on Morse Reservoir three years earlier in March 2010,”according to Fox 59.

If stupidity was given out as an award then Jacob Travis has to head to the head of the class because instead of using gun safety, he engaged in gun play and even tried to force Aubrey Peters to handle the gun, suggests the Indy Star.

Peters refused and still the 20-year-old persisted to force the 16-year-old high school junior to entertain his nonsensical gun play. Unfortunately for Peters, he pointed the gun and is alleged to have pulled the trigger, fatally striking the young hero in the chest.

Refusing to take responsibility for his moronic act he allegedly attempted to convince the others present in the home to mislead the police about his responsibility for the shooting of Peters, stated the Indy Star.

After further questioning Daniels was taken into custody for his alleged role in the tragic shooting and death of Aubrey Peters.

In time the intensity of the pain due to the tragedy of Aubrey’s death shall fade away. But for the hundreds that gathered along the shoreline of the Noblesville Morse Beach Park at candlelight vigil on Monday evening, her heroism and her vibrant life shall keep her forever young.
