In a press release issued February 18th, Parul Aneja, Indianapolis, IN designer made her New York debut on the New York runway on February 12th with her 2013 fall collection during the New York Fashion Week on the Emerge! Runway Show which is the most popular and anticipated runway show for upcoming designers. Amidst a crowd of 400 fashion elites, smiles where all around as soon as the first model hit the runway.
The social stratosphere was abuzz with enthusiastic compliments from the attendees in response to the fashion show. Emerge! Fashion Innovator Award recipient and style maven Mikki Taylor was on hand to show her approval of the line as well as Miss Curve 2011 Christiandra Wells who commented “Love your designs” on Parul Aneja’s Facebook page. Also on hand to give praise for the show was Broadway producer Stephen C. Byrd (A Streetcar named Desire and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof) who stated that the show was “awesome”.
"I am very encouraged with my experience in New York Fashion Week," says designer Parul Aneja. "I want to bring my designs to runways all across the world. New York was a great inspiration."
Parul Aneja, who specializes in wedding gowns, cocktail dresses, evening and prom wear integrates her hometown roots of New Delhi, India with her Midwestern unique twist. She is a graduate of the National Institute of Fashion Design and the Delhi University. For three years she owned and operated a workshop in New Delhi where she designed Indian/Indo/Western apparel. In 2003, Parul received the Best Creative Designer award presented by the National Institute of Fashion Design at Taj Palace Hotel in New Delhi.
Her warm enthusiastic personality mixed with her unique design and elegance along with her exceptional designs and melding of eastern and western cultures make Parul Aneja a force to be reckoned with and a designer to keep an eye out for in the future.
