Although two blocks farther from UCSF than Naan ‘N’ Curry, Tasty Curry offers better Indian food at a great value, says a past Synapse reviewer. Try the chicken tandoori for $2.99. [review]

Naan 'n' Curry (642 Irving, between 7th and 8th)
Serves a quick and inexpensive Indian meal close to Parnassus. [review]

Masala (1220 9th Ave., between Lincoln and Irving)
More upscale than its competitors, with a nicer dining room and more varied menu, but with higher prices.

Tikka Masala (98 Judah, at 6th Ave.)
