A typical dosa presentation, with various fillings
NIAGARA FALLS, NY -- A new restaurant featuring an all-vegetarian southern Indian menu is open for business.
The A-1 Dosa Hut, located at 427 Third Street, is owned by Nirmal Singh Kandola. It will use no dairy, meat or seafood products.
Kandola founded what he said was the first Indian restaurant in Niagara Falls, the Taj Mahal on Niagara Falls Boulevard near 73rd Street. He later moved the operation to 425 Third Street and re-named it Crown Indian Buffet. Its menu is northern Indian, which includes meat dishes.
The new restaurant features dosa, which are crepe-like wrappers (see above) filled with potatoes and vegetables; Idli, which are steamed rice patties, and uttappams, rice-and-lentil pancakes filled with an aassortment of vegetables. All are served with coconut chutney, and sambar, a vegetable lentil soup.
NOTES ON NAPKINS: Kandola also owns the Taste of India restaurant, adjacent to the former Wintergarden site, but it is temporarily closed due to construction. The Wintergarden arboretum, which once held 7,000 tropical plants, was demolished to make room for reconstruction of Falls Street. ...
Kandola said 60% of Indian visitors to his restaurants are from southern India, which prompted him to create is why he decided to open the A-1 Dosa Hut.

Ya. they take people for granted. the stuff isnt good . idli and vada dont taste original and are undercooked.
They are way too pricy too
Last thing and most important is they cheat when they make the bill. They include some other amount (maybe tip) along with the taxes and again ask you for a tip. Tip is something voluntary and should be left to the consumer. The owner cannot add this under any circumstance , no excuses... its very cheap to do that way , no wonder their food tastes like that..
This is the worst restaurant, a total disappointment. As the first poster mentioned food is really bad. Half cooked idly and Vada. Next they cheat when they finally write the bill. I was told 9.99 buffet price per head but they charged 12.99 plus tax. Cheaters! Ambience is also very bad, sticky floor & dirty smell all around. If you are looking for good Indian food you must avoid this place.
SUCKS SUCKS SUCKS....NEVER GO TO this Restaurant again. A sardar gave me a visiting card to visit this restaurant when I was crusing niagara falls. I thought it should be a good place and went there.
1) No body in that restaurant...scary..
2) I ordered Alu Palak and she was trying to cheat me saying that its palak paneer and was planning to charge more. I caught that asshole
3) They said they will give rice with curry. they dint give..again they cheated
4) I ordered for Rotis and they gave me chapatis
5) They charge more, like some one said above they make some weird calculations and add tax and gratuity them selves. Gratuity is same thing which customer should give and not for they to add by default.
6) Last but not the least: In their restaurant, they have big sayings like "Do not waste food". to be honest they dont give food to eat forget wasting.
I got to know all this at my hotel room as I had taken a TO GO order
OVER ALL
These are perfect ASSHOLES and need to closed asap. This is the first time I got so frustrated about a restaurant in USA.
