The India vs. New Zealand 2014 cricket live stream and televised series continues for the 1st Test series, as Day 3 arrives in Auckland. India currently trails by a whopping 373 runs with 6 wickets remaining in the third innings, and will continue to try to gain some ground during the third day of the series. So far Brendon McCullum has been stellar in the series, and he’ll look to continue to propel the home club to victory. The latest televised and live stream 1st series cricket will be presented for fans via the ESPN broadband sports network and Willow TV.
A report via AFP via Google News on Feb. 6 notes that McCullum was able to achieve a double century to help New Zealand improve to a 473-7 lead early on the second day. Corey Anderson (77) and Tim Southee (28) also assisted in the strong performance by the home team. As of this report, McCullum has a total of 224 runs himself out of the team’s impressive 503 total. Of note, New Zealand’s run output at this particular venue is only second to the one they put up in 2004 against South Africa, where they had 595 scored.
According to ESPN Cric Info, McCullum told the media with regards to what may be his best innings ever played:
"Definitely (it will be my best) if we win the game. Pleased to have contributed in a significant way, which was by building partnerships,. We managed to keep creating partnerships after a tough start so that is very satisfying, especially after we lost wickets. To get 500 after being put into bat, after we were 30 for 3, is a great effort. Team has got a little bit of fight in them in tough situations."
As for India, there haven’t been to many stellar performances in the series so far. Scorecards indicate that Sharma has 67 runs to lead the team followed by 26 from Vijay and 23 from Rahane. One of the team’s top stars, Virat Kohli, has only 4 as of this report, with MS Dhoni scheduled to bat. The bowlers have taken four wickets to ten for New Zealand.
Weather reports for Day 3 note that Auckland currently has temperatures in the mid 60’s to low 70’s with AM rain on the forecast. There’s a 70% chance of rain which could make the grounds slicker for the pitch. Wind is clocked at 16 miles per hour, with partly cloudy skies on the forecast for the last two days of this 1st Test series.
Various sports books have odds for the series, with New Zealand heavily favored at 8/13, while the India squad is priced at 20/1. A draw is currently priced at 11/8. The two teams will meet in a 2nd Test series which begins on Feb. 14 in Wellington.
