India and Australia legally redefine human nature

India and Australia have joined the growing list of countries legally expanding the definition of human, according to the BBC. In an act of defiance of God's created order, the Supreme Court of India declared, "it is the right of every human being to choose their gender."

The world's largest democracy's decision closely follows Australia's latest anti-human ruling in favor of a neutral gender category, reports ABC news. On April 2, in a little-known court case, the High Court of Australia unanimously upheld the right to self-identify as a non-specific sex.

Both countries are catching up to the world of legal redefinition of humans. Germany already legally recognized transgenders for many years. Late last year, Germany offered a third gender category on birth certificates. Napal and Sweden already have similar provisions, according to Huffington Post. California and Massachusetts are using a back-door method to redefine humans through public school laws (see details from Mass Resistance).

There are an estimated two million transgenders in India, according to the BBC news report. The ruling allows transgenders to be given job quotas, education and other legal rights along with racial minorities.

The legal ramifications of the Australian case are unclear since it dealt with the narrow issue of identifying one's sex on a government document for identification purposes. However, the moral logic has far-reaching implications that have yet to be fully appreciated.

One of the Indian judges justified the court's unprecedented ruling with facile reasoning: "Recognition of transgenders as a third gender is not a social or medical issue but a human rights issue." Similar shallow sentiment was echoed in the Australian case.

The current legal efforts to remake man into his own image should not unnerve Christians. It merely echoes the decadent culture of another age.

Paul described it thus in the book of Romans, chapter one:

"Professing to be wise, they became fools, and changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like corruptible man -- and birds and four-footed animals and creeping things. Therefore God also gave them up to uncleanness, in the lusts of their hearts, to dishonor their bodies among themselves, who exchanged the truth of God for the lie, and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen."
