Every year actors, directors and writers gather to celebrate some of the years most amazing films and to honor those whom have contributed to them as well. No, it's not the Oscars or the Golden Globes but in fact it is the Independent Spirit Award. Unlike most award shows the Independent Spirit Awards differs from mainstream films and celebrate the countless efforts by independent artist and their finest achievements.
This year will be like no other there are countless independent films that are being nominated like Bernie, Keep the Lights On and even the Oscar nominated film Silver Linings Playbook are just some of the films that are competing for the coveted Best Feature Award. Since it is a celebration of films of coarse there will be a platter of celebrities that will be presenters like Channing Tatum, Kerry Washington and even Portlandia creator Fred Armisen will be there (hopefully sharing some of that Portland charm). Not to mention funny guy himself Andy Samberg will be the host this year and lets cross our fingers that Shy Ronnie may make an appearance as well!
