Incredibly, Obama's State Department about to reject Keystone Pipeline

Incredibly, Obama may have just handed the Republicans a HUGE advantage in the upcoming election. At a time when energy independence is at the forefront of American thinking on energy, and the majority of Americans want the Keystone Pipeline, according to FoxNews.com and just about every other news agency, the Obama State Department is about to announce it will reject the plan.

With gas prices projected to rise to as much as $5.00 a gallon by Labor Day, Obama came down on the side of far left environmentalists, and in the process, just blunted his previously secure union support.

In the negotiations to extend the payroll tax, the GOP put in a stipulation that robbed Obama of a chance to put off a controversial decision until after the election in a purely political move: Make a decision on the Keystone Pipeline within 60 days.

The State Department, which has been studying this for three years, claims that 60 days isn’t enough time to come up with a decision. As Newt would say, BALONEY! No fewer than three independent environmental studies gave the pipeline an A+ and determined that it will do no damage to the environment.

The pipeline would have pumped Canadian “oils sand’ down to refineries in Texas. It would have cost the government nothing to build and would create anywhere from 20,000 to 100,000 new jobs.

Once again, the Obama administration has caved to its base of far left fanatics, in this case whacko environmentalists who refuse to believe those three independent studies and has crippled one major opportunity for us to achieve energy independence.

The administration’s record of investing in such companies as Solyndra, which got $500 billion from taxpayers provided that if it went belly up, the taxpayers would be first in line to get their money back. When it did go bankrupt, the filing put taxpayers at the back of the lines in violaton of the agreement and returned investments to capital investors first. Obama took no steps to reverse that decision. That means taxpayers are left with nothing. Other such investments made by the Energy Department are equally risky.

But this decision not only hampers energy independence, it walks away from an opportunity to create a huge number of jobs.

This is without question the most illogical and irresponsible decision we’ve seen come from an administration that offers up nothing but illogical and irresponsible decisions.

According to Fox, House Spear John Boehner said of the decision:

"If we don't build this pipeline to bring that Canadian oil and pick up the North Dakota oil and deliver it to our refineries in the Gulf Coast, that oil is gonna get shipped out to the Pacific Ocean and will be sold to the Chinese. This is not good for our country."

"The president wants to put this off until it's convenient for him to make a decision. ... The president's got an opportunity to create 100,000 new jobs almost immediately. The president should say yes," he said.

If this doesn’t motivate the electorate to oust Obama, I don’t know what will. Once again a tiny minority of left wing miscreants rules the nation while the majority can’t do anything about it—except to send Obama packing in January of 2013, which is something that must happen at this point. He clearly cannot make a decision that would greatly benefit this country, not only in our efforts to achieve energy independence but jobs.

This is why myriads of small business owners are saying, "I'm not hiring again until Obama is out of office."

In response to the possibility of a "no" decision, Canada has warned that if the Keystone Pipeline isn't approved, it'll send the oil west to China. From a geopolitical standpoint that's disastrous.

Our only recourse is to vote Obama out in 2012, or we can expect much more of the same and far worse if he wins re-election. This decision is so astoundly bad if defies any sense of rationality. It's a no-brainer, yet Obama can't handle it.

Consider that an Obama second terms means he doesn’t have to care what the people think, and this is where term limits can be powerfully dangerous, because unless the House and Senate go Republican, we can kiss the America we know and love good-bye, and watch a national catastrophe unfold before our eyes with joblessness continuing to rise (don't believe that it's 8.5%. That doesn't include people who've given up looking or collage grads who can't find jobs. The true unemployment rate is between 16% and 20%.)

This decision is one of the most inexcusable in our history and clearly demonstrates that Obama cares more about being re-elected than being president. Let him go home and run for City Council in Chicago. This administration must end in January 2013. There's just no doubt about it.
