Update 7/11/14: Safe/adopted!
On June 25, a stunning German shepherd named "Apollo," found himself behind the bars of a kennel run at the Los Angeles County Animal Care and Control facility in Downey, Calif.
Apollo came to the animal control facility after he was confiscated from his prior family, who reportedly neglected him.
This handsome three-year-old dog is certain to make German shepherd lovers swoon...he is absolutely gorgeous, weighing in at 81 pounds of "pure beauty." According to shelter staff, Apollo is selective with smaller dogs and appears to be fine with large breed dogs, as long as he is provided with a proper introduction.
On July 6, the Downey Animal Care Center Facebook page posted the following information about Apollo:
Weighing eighty-one pounds, this gorgeous dog walks well on leash, knows multiple commands and we think he is housetrained. He has a medium-energy level, and we think he will be delighted to join a family with children.
Apollo needs to be noticed by someone who is willing and able to provide him with a safe and loving home. Please take a moment to network his information - the effort made right now may be what is needed to make his adoption happen.
