If you want to get into shape at your own discretion, there are a number of stores in the Salt Lake valley that you can get your favorite type of exercise equipment from. It seems that Walmart still averages the cheaper prices. The problem with buying the sports equipment from Walmart is the lack of educated assistance that can really help you with your choices. They do have the big weight lifting machines associated with a good assortment of free weights; however for simpler core exercises some of the smaller types of equipment might be more useful.
A possible list of core exercisers to consider could be:
•T.V. Ab circle pro machine, specific to the side oblique muscle; not for the total core.
•T.V. Belly burner; don’t waist your money on them. They use an electrical stimulator to tense your muscles. They are good for rehab or to show you what a tense muscle feels like, but not for strength.
•Ab rollers are just too awkward to use in working your stomach, it puts lots of stress on the upper arms and upper back.
•Shake weight for women. Blah Humbug. You can get as good a workout vacuuming the carpet.
And the non-inclusive tools are the Winners!
T.V. Ab Rocket: great for those starting to work the mid section.
Perfect Sit Up; is a good exercise tool for those motivated to use it. Start without it and move into using it.
Ab Wheel; is one of the better high level Ab exercise tools on the market. It’s great for strength, but you have to be determined to start using it.
