A complex storm system will approach tonight into Tuesday with snow, possibly changing to a wintry mix from the Capital Region south and east, with significant snow accumulations for most of the region. It will remain unsettled in the wake of the storm as an upper level low lingers over the northeastern states with an abundance of clouds and scattered flurries and snow showers.
- A Winter Storm Warning is in effect from 6 p.m. this evening through 8 p.m. Tuesday for the entire region. Snow will begin Monday evening and become steady to occasionally heavy on Monday night. Some sleet, freezing rain, or rain could mix in on Tuesday morning from the Capital Region southward before going back over to snow as the coastal low takes over. Hazardous travel is expected due to snow covered roads and poor visibility at times, especially for the Tuesday morning commute.
