In “Juno” Ellen Page was tough and confrontational and adorable doing it all, while in “X-Men: The Last Stand” she was a startling spritely Kitty Pryde.
For “Queen and Country” she’ll play Tara Chace – a hard-nails field agent for SIS.
Variety reports that Page signs on to this adaptation of the action spy-fi novels and comic books by Greg Rucka with Twentieth Century Fox.
Rucka first wrote the comic book series published by Oni Press in 2001. He later wrote all new clandestine caliber exploits of Chace into 2004’s A Gentleman’s Game, the first of three novels published by Bantam. The comic books were honored with multiple Eisners over its years in publication.
The film “Queen and Country” will be produced by Peter Chemin. The screenplay is to be written by John Rogers.
Page will reprise her Kitty Pryde mutant for the upcoming “X-Men: Days of Future Past”
"Scott Pilgrim vs. The World" and "Whiteout" are two other film projects originally published by Oni Press.
