Inaugural Elegance. The Balls.
But what about Inaugural Bling.
Jewelers and artistic creations carefully selected for the First Lady.
Then, in 2009…
Michelle Obama’s inaugural jewelry was designed by Los Angeles-based artisan Loree Rodkin…via a favorite Chicago boutique.
That inaugural collection included a ring, bracelets and earrings–most notably, something that the designer calls celestial earrings. These memorable chandelier earrings sparkled 61 carats of diamonds and were “to represent the moon, the stars, and the hope for Obama for our future” remarked designer Loree Rodkin.

Now…what will FLOTUS sparkle this weekend…
What of other historical bling.
“Of course, being mistress of the White House is a terrific responsibility, and I am truly grateful for my Army wife training.” Mamie Eisenhower….favoring a pearl ensemble by Trifari.
While Barbara Bush wore the famously well-liked three-strands of pearls by Kenneth Jay Lane.
First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln wore popular seed pearl jewelry of the time.
The Lincoln ensemble was retail from Tiffany’s.

and that is the power we all have in forming our own destinies.” Dolley Madison.
