In a statement posted tonight on the Bacon Festival of America’s Facebook
and Twitter pages, event organizers say the bacon festival has sold out, however; the admission of current ticket holders will be honored for the remainder of the evening.
The post read, “Sorry folks, Bacon Festival is sold out. You can't have a bacon festival when you are running out of bacon. Attendance today far exceeded even our most optimistic expectations. We apologize for the inconvenience. Existing ticket holders may still enter.”
The announcement on the event page was posted about four hours before the first annual event was scheduled to end which led to some lively feedback.
One post noted, “Most trucks were already selling out by 3:00pm,” while another exclaimed, “This place is great!”
Food trucks from all over the Bay Area featured bacon in most of the menu options. Dishes cost $5.00 or less per plate. Attendees could sit upon the well-known Moveable Feast buckets while enjoying their food and drinks under shaded canopy areas.
The Bacon Festival of America was presented by San Jose’s Moveable Feast street food.
The festival is scheduled for 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM at the San Jose Flea Market on Mabury Road.
Bacon Festival tickets include admission to the festival and also includes the weekly Night Market which is held every Saturday evening through September 28 at the San Jose Flea Market.
Pre-sale admission tickets were priced between $7.00 and $9.00 leading up to the festival date and $10.00 on the day of the festival plus $7.00 for parking.
