Valentine’s Day weekend in the Philadelphia area is loaded with performances by soul music groups and solo artists. Whether your preference is melodic harmonies, soulful ballads, or proclamations of love, this weekend's line-up is sure to deliver top-notch entertainment.

Valentine's Soul Jam 2012 – Friday, February 10 – Liacouras Center – Philadelphia, PA at 8 pm

The Stylistics, The Whispers, Main Ingredient, and The Temptations Review kick off Valentine's Day weekend on Friday night, February 10 at the Liacouras Center  One of the leading Philly soul groups in the 70’s, The Stylistics had 12 Top Ten hits, including "You Are Everything," "Betcha by Golly Wow,"  and "You Make Me Feel Brand New."

Best known for up tempo tracks “And the Beat Goes On,” “Rock Steady,” and “It’s a Love Thing,” The Whispers continue to be one of R&B’s most beloved vocal groups.  In 2009 the group released their first gospel album titled Thankful.

Led by Cuba Gooding, Sr., The Main Ingredient made their mark in the early and mid-70’s with their lyrical hits “Everybody Plays the Fool” and “Rolling Down a Mountainside.” Released in 1974, Euphrates River was the group’s signature album, featuring “Summer Breeze” and “Just Don’t Want to be Lonely.”

Joining The Stylistics, The Whispers and Main Ingredient will be The Temptations Review featuring Dennis Edwards.

J Moss: Saturday, February 11 – Yesha Ministry Hall – Philadelphia, PA at 8:00 pm

Joining Praise 103.9’s “Single and Saved” event will be contemporary gospel artist J Moss.  The cutting-edge singer/songwriter has produced a bevy of accessible tracks that regularly top the Billboard gospel music charts, including “Praise on the Inside” and “Rebuild Me.” His latest single “Good and Bad” is from his 2011 project, J MOSS V4 – The Other Side. Jeffrey Osborne: Sunday, February 12 – Keswick Theatre, Glenside, PA at 7:30 pm

As the baritone vocalist and drummer for L.T.D. (Love, Togetherness & Devotion), Jeffrey Osborne was the lead singer on such notable hits as “Love Ballad” and “Back in Love.” In 1980, Osborne went solo and in 1982 he released his self-titled debut album which featured  “On the Wings of Love” and “Stay with Me Tonight.” For tickets click here.
