In these times, America could use Winston Churchill

Quotes  -  In 1941, Prime Minister Winston Chruchill addressed British students with the following speech at a time when Nazi Germany was steamrolling through Europe:

Do not let us speak of darker days: let us speak rather of sterner days. These are not dark days; these are great days - the greatest days our country has ever lived; and we must all thank God that we have been allowed, each of us according to our stations, to play a part in making these days memorable in the history of our race.

Even in his nation's darkest days, Churchill looked at the positive and used the situation to rally his countrymen.  Today, America could use a leader like that.

Our public rhetoric has been watered down by political correctness.  The media no longer focuses on accurate reporting.  The press, with its focus on creating ratings and animosity between opposing factions, prefers 'gotcha' questions.

Here is another Churchill quote:  "I am prepared to meet my Maker. Whether my Maker is prepared for the great ordeal of meeting me is another matter."

Now that's a notable leader in times of crisis.
