The Genesis account gives us an accurate truthful account of the Creation, that is denied by scoffers in these last days. The First Book of Moses called Genesis is a book of beginnings. It is a Book that gives the foundation for the other 65 Books comprised of the Holy Bible called the King James Version. To mock and scoff at this Book of books, mocks and scoffs at the One (Lord Jesus Christ) who gave Moses the words to put in this important Book. The first verse of the Bible : "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth" (Genesis 1:1). This is where it all started at. This is the origin of our universe, our earth, and all the celestial bodies (stars, planets, moons, comets etc.), that God has created.
Many scoffers in these last days of the Church age, call the Book of Genesis a myth or a fable. They believe the universe and the earth were produced by chance out of chaos through a evolutionary process that took billions of years to complete. They have many theories of how this came about. The philosophy of evolution clouds and blinds the minds of men from the truth of the gospel of Christ (2 Corinthians 4 : 3-6).
"Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ "(Colossians 2:8).
These theories on the origins of the universe, galaxies, stars, and solar systems causes confusion. One such evolutionary theory is the "Big Bang". It says that the universe was born in an enormous explosion about 15 billion years ago, and its fallout produced not only mass and energy, but also space and time. From a tiny fantastically, hot "seed", the universe swelled and cooled. For hundreds of thousands of years, matter consisted of a seething mass of superheated subatomic particles, buffeted by high-energy radiation. Today's universe is cold and quiet by comparison, but at its edge astronomers can still detect the faint glow of its fiery birth, and with it, the beginning of time. How to these scientists know that is what exactly happen? No man was present to record the event. How could chaos come into order? Did you ever see an explosion, especially one of a nuclear variety (atomic and hydrogen bombs)? Just look at the destruction these type of explosions produced.
Our God is not a God of confusion (chaos) (I Corinthians 14:33). But a God of order (I Corinthians 14:40). He clearly tell us how it all began and how long it took to create it, for He was there. "The heavens declare the glory of God and the firmament sheweth his handywork" (Psalm 19:1). Exodus 20:11 tells us plainly how many days it took to complete this. "For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in there is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day and hallowed it."
The ordinary reading of Genesis 1 : 1-31, is clear. God created the world and all it contains in six 24-hour days. The Hebrew word "yom" in Genesis means a literal day and not an indefinite period of time. The language could not be more precise. The light portion is called "day" and the dark portion is called "night". Each numbered day (1st day, 2nd day, 3rd day, 4th day, 5th day and 6th day) is defined as having an "evening and morning".
Romans 1:20 tells us clearly and plainly that men are without excuse not to believe in the Creation. "For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse."
