In the northern suburbs of Chicago, art fair lovers mark Art Fair on the Square, Lake Forest, on the calendar the Sunday and Monday of Labor Day weekend. About 170 tents spread over the city’s historic Market Square built in 1916 as a European-style market.
The past few years, the Lake Forest-Lake Bluff Artisan Guild Fall Fair has also set up about 50 booths next to Market Square in the Lake Forest Bank & Trust parking lots.
Downtown Chicago, EXPO Chicago will be at Navy Pier’s Festival Hall for the second year of the International Exposition of Contemporary and Modern Art, Sept. 19-22, 2013.
In addition to showing works from 120 international galleries, the event features special exhibitions and programming from the Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis, Hatch Projects, Hyde Park Art Center, Laumeier Sculpture Park, the University of Chicago,The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Warhol Museum, Museum of Contemporary Photography and the International Sculpture Center and other art institutions and organizations.
