Formed in 2009, Seattle natives The Head and the Heart started making waves in 2011 with their Sub-Pop re-released self titled debut record. The acclaim from this album (which was originally released on indie label Sonic Boom and was their biggest selling album of 2010), landed the band opening slots for My Morning Jacket, The Decemberists, Iron and Wine and Death Cab for Cutie. The band is now scheduled to play their biggest stage yet - the April 14 & 21st edition of the Coachella Music Festival.
In advance of their set in the desert, take a peek at this accompanying gallery of photos from their performance at the 2011 FYF Festival in Downtown, Los Angeles. They are a live band that will not disappoint.
