Are you a determined person or are you someone who wants things but never really musters up the motivation to make them happen?
Henry Ford once said, “The man who thinks he can and the man who thinks he can't are both right. Which one are you?”
I think Henry Ford was right. I feel if you really want something, you can make some version of this vision happen although without summoning your will in order to persevere, you will never make it through the journey.
The Merriam-Webster dictionary defines determination as, “a quality that makes you continue trying to do or achieve something that is difficult: the act of finding out or calculating something: the act of officially deciding something.”
When I read these definitions, it makes me wonder if those who procrastinate or never put their plan into action are stuck in limbo because he or she hasn’t actually decided to do it. Or, perhaps, calculations of impossibility (because of a lack of self confidence) have held these individuals back from finding their way to success.
I believe as a human being you are equipped with a persevering spirit, it is a gift from God and all you have to do is tap into this energy in order to enable its strength.
When you think about your life is there something that comes to mind that you are missing out on for some reason or another? As you read this article today, in this very moment, perhaps it is time to decide you are worthy of this decision. Put your mind to it, calculate your journey, surface your persevering spirit and step forward into a realization of this decision.
I’ll leave you with words by Karen Lamb. “A year from now you may wish you had started today.”
