In need of a kidney transplant

Dear Friends ,

 

I am sending word to as many as possible of my oldest daughters situation.  She is in need of a kidney donor. Being born with only one and being Extremely athletic, she has worn her little one kidney out.  She has been on the transplant list since last summer and recently started paratinial dialysis.  She has type O blood.  Universal donor but only type O people can donate to her.  All are welcome to go to her facebook page: "Jami needs a kidney" and check out the information for themselves.  They can also go to her facebook page under Jami Loftin.  She's a beauty and one of the Good guys.  A very generous tender heart, though tough on herself in nature.  She whups her own butt to stay healthy.  Started when she was 15 Before we knew she was born with only one kidney.  No  one knew until she was very ill and her blood showed her levels to be too high for a normal person.

 

Jami is 27.  She is a pharmacy tech at St. John's, and is going to start school when she is Forced to go on a two year disability After the transplant, to Further her education to help others find good health and Live their lives to the fullest. To look at this beautiful young lady no one would suspect she is so close to death if she is not very disciplined in her own care.  She has to eat things that are not so healthy because of the high phosphorous that could kill her in healthy foods.  Weird huh.

 

I hear the frustration in my child's voice when she is restricted from running her normal 4 to 5 miles a day, boot camp for an hour, riding her bike an average of 26 miles every day weather permitting, and actually has a doc and counselor that helps her key down so she does not throw toxins in her blood stream.  She is growing weary waiting for that kidney to come so she can get back to Her normal...overworking, over achieving, amazing creature who cares about all those less fortunate than her.  She runs in all the marathons to help others who are ill and dying. She has proved she is so valuable to the human experience by contributing all she has to others. Her friends adore her, her co-workers rally around her for the answers she seeks.  It's a committed process to donate an organ.  Her insurance covers all the expenses and there are programs for financial assistance for travel for anyone willing to take a step to help those like her in need of an organ.

 

She is registered with St. Louis Barnes-Jewish Hospital and Kansas City's research Hospital.  Anyone can call and inquire for a kidney donor packet by just giving her name: Jami Loftin.

 

All who wish to consider this miracle of life to a very deserving person are so richly appreciated and will be rewarded many times over for their consideration in ways we do not know.

 

Many blessings to you and Your family for any word you can pass along for Jami's sake.  As her mother, I am working as hard as my own body will allow to qualify to donate also.  Many have applied but we are Still waiting for the call that says she is a Go for surgery date.  Otherwise she is like number 79,000 on the list who are waiting for a viable kidney themselves.
