Country superstar Tim McGraw is not only a fan of Bruce Springsteen, he is one of his closest friends. According to a report by CMT News on March 18, 2014, McGraw expressed his admiration for the man he calls his pal.

As the two may share a stage headlining at the NCAA March Madness Music Festival in Dallas in a few weeks, McGraw will once again get the chance to admire the rock legend up close and personally. As he did when he honored Springsteen during the 2013 MusiCares Person of the Year show, where he expressed just how proud he was to call “The Boss” his friend.

“He’s one of the coolest guys I’ve ever been around and [I’m] proud to count him as a friend,” said McGraw.

On a music level, Tim McGraw paid his buddy the highest tribute, emphasizing how much Springsteen has inspired.

“He’s an American treasure. I think he’s one of those icons of music that rarely comes along. …You look back through history and there’s only a handful of ‘em," said McGraw. "And he’s certainly one of those guys that’s inspired so many people.”

The love is shared throughout the country music community for Springsteen. As he has received praise from other big time stars like Eric Church, Lady Antebellum and Kip Moore.

Springsteen is set to bring his tour to Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena on April 17, 2014, where he may just be performing in front of or maybe even with some of these country superstars. An appearance by Tim McGraw would not be a surprise.
