In memory of Mother: Watch the wheat, watch the weight part twenty-seven

I’m sure as many other individuals trying to get back on one’s diet is hard after the holidays. In fact, it is rather disheartening. Hey, I admit I enjoyed the sweets, the stuffing and the turkey, of course. However, eating the stuffing is what triggered my appetite into a raging inferno. EAT! EAT! EAT!

As Dr. Davis mentioned in his book, “Lose the Wheat, Lose the Weight!”, I believe him when he says, “Wheat is an appetite stimulant.” Consuming wheat does make one want more cookies, cupcakes, pretzels, candy, soft drinks, more bagels, muffins, tacos, submarine sandwiches, pizza and etc. It does not matter whether the food one craves has wheat or not, when it comes to overeating, because at this moment, I am having a problem and all caused by pigging out over the holidays. It was just too tempting not to indulge!

Now, for some people wheat is a drug, or at least yields peculiar drug-like neurological effects that can be reversed with medications used to counter the effects of narcotics. Imagine that!

Currently, I am no longer eating an wheat products. I’m back to my corn thins, gluten-free cereal and gluten-free tacos. But, it is so hard to see that bulge around my middle increase, instead of decrease. I have some work to do!

Next week, I’ll be discussing the wheat belly, love handles, man boobs and food babies.

For the past couple of months, I have been working on my new website dedicated to Gator Allie. Her first article is scheduled for its debut on the week of January 20th.
