In memory of Mother: Watch the wheat, watch the weight part thirty-one

David was diagnosed with severe heart disease at forty-eight years of age. Now, in his youth, he did watch what he ate and he did keep up with exercise. After all, his grandfather had died of a heart attack at a young age and David was lead to believe it was genetics. Therefore, David ate healthy whole grains and hit the pavement on regular runs, but that did not change his high cholesterol numbers.

After being diagnosed with severe heart disease, David received six stents to open his coronary arteries, because three major arteries had been blocked up to 90 percent. David was tired of doing all the so-called right things and decided to find alternative ways to reduce his cholesterol and that’s when he came across Dr. Davis’ program.

Five months later after going wheat free, David found himself twenty pounds lighter and his cholesterol had significantly dropped.

I guess it pays to learn about what one eats and take a chance on doing something different. After all, David followed for years what he had been told about whole grain products and jogging. But, when the outcome was not what he had expected, he had to research a new approach and take a risk to save his life.

Once when a person decides to go wheat-free, it can take as long as month for the cravings to subside. Obviously, it takes perseverance. Mother use to always say, “Take more chances, because later on you might regret it.”
