In memory of Mother: Fresh Pride is closing

What can I say? I have a hard time accepting change. Mother was more adaptable to change. She looked forward to changes as seeing a new door opening.

A few days ago, I stopped at Fresh Pride, my favorite grocery store, on the way to work. That’s when I noticed a banner stating its upcoming closing. Everything in the store, except for liquor and cigarettes, was 30 percent off.

I was so heart-broken over the loss of our neighborhood store. This grocery store was so unique with its fresh meats and fresh produce. Now, I have to find another grocery store.

So, I need some help. If you live in the Norfolk area, especially around Little Creek, send me an email about your favorite grocery store and why it is your favorite at sharonelane@gmail.com

Perhaps, Mother was right! Maybe, change can open doors to new opportunities! Well, I guess I’ll find out.
