Halloween in many Mounds away, yet horror DVDs are already carving out interest.
Having already conquered the Sundance Film Festival, In Fear, the critically acclaimed feature film debut of writer/director Jeremy Lovering, arrives March 11 on Blu-ray VOD and DVD from Anchor Bay Films.
Starring Iain De Caestecker, Alice Englert and Allen Leech, In Fear has taken the horror world by storm, garnering rave reviews wherever it is played. The film stunned audiences in international film festivals in nine countries, including Canada’s Toronto After Dark, Germany’s Rosebud Entertainment Fantasy Festival, Spain’s Fancine–Festival de Cine Fantastico and South Korea’s Puchon International Fantastic Film Festival.
What’s the fearful fuss?
In Fear is a tense psychological horror about a young couple's fight to make it through the night. Home invasion but in a car. In real-time. Tom (De Caestecker) and Lucy (Englert) are trapped in a maze of country roads with only their vehicle for protection, terrorized by an unseen tormentor hell-bent on exploiting their worst fears. Driving, lost and tormented in the night, primal fears of the dark and the unknown give way to fear that you have let the evil in, or that it is already there.
We suggest no road trips soon.

More lust for blood with Bloodlust, available for the first time in full HD restoration from the original 35mm film elements. The DVD arrives March 4 from Film Chest Media Group.
Filmed in 1959 and released in 1961, Bloodlust–starring Robert Reed, June Kenney, Joan Lora and Eugene Persson was featured on Mystery Science Theater 3000 in 1994, quickly becoming a cult classic.
In this thrilling drama, a group of young adults on a boat excursion become the prey of a sadistic hunter when the two couples come across an uncharted tropical island, which they soon find is inhabited by a wealthy recluse and his staff.
While their host is initially hospitable, the four investigate and find themselves in the clutches of Dr. Albert Balleau (Wilton Graff), whose hobby is hunting both animals and humans. He quickly reveals his true purpose … to hunt down and kill each of his visitors, as he has done with everyone unlucky enough to set foot on his island.
Poor Mr. Brady!
