In-demand background vocalist James Murphy steps into forefront with new single

After testing the market with a soft release, Empowered Music Group/Universal Music Group announced the worldwide release of DMV native James Murphy's single "Follow Thee" Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at iTunes and other digital outlets.

"Follow Thee," produced by Kevin "KP" Pridgen and written by Murphy, Kevin Pridgen, and Tre Thomas, is the lead single off his forthcoming album, "So Crazy, No Boundaries," and was created after many disappointments in Murphy's life.

"I was at a place in my life where I had followed a lot other people and things that failed me but when I made up in my mind to follow Jesus, everything became okay," states Murphy. "I took the hymn, 'I Have Decided to Follow Jesus' and brought it up to 2014, with a new school thump."

James Murphy is a young gospel artist whose approach to the gospel music world today is noted as unique and refreshing, has a rich mixture of urban contemporary gospel and R&B which has delighted a multitude of music lovers for some time.

Murphy is the recipient of several awards: DMV Top 30 Under 30 2009-Radio One, DMV Top 30 Under 30 2010-Radio One, DMV Top 30 Under 30 2011-Radio One, and DMV Awards- Gospel Artist of the Year. As with all his music, Murphy's goal is to inspire and uplift those in need of a sincere message.
