In case you were too busy focusing on "The Beyonce Show with Special Guest, Football" to notice the awesome "The Walking Dead" commercial during the Super Bowl, we've got it right here for you.
The commercial is actually advertising Time Warner Cable, but the cable provider wisely chose to showcase one of the most popular shows on TV to do that. And that show is, of course, "The Walking Dead."
The commercial showcases a bunch of very subtle references to AMC's little zombie show, including piles of dead zombies and a few live ones. There's a little kid zombie chained to the wall a-la the Governor's zombified daughter, Penny; a sign on a door reading "DON'T OPEN, DEAD INSIDE"; machetes galore; and a bisected zombie making its way down the hallway.
But the most important part of the commercial is of course the appearance of zombie-slaying heart-throb and everyone's favorite crossbow-wielding bad-boy, Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus). Daryl's chagrined apology for the pile of dead zombies in the living room is both adorable and hilarious.
Watch the commercial if you don't believe me.
We are the walking dead: "The Walking Dead" is currently in its mid-season break. It will return this February 10th in its usual Sunday night time slot at 9 p.m. for more zombie mayhem and madness.
