Last season, Pascal Dupuis had a career year for the Pittsburgh Penguins. His twenty-five goals and thirty-four assists combined for a career-high of fifty-nine points.
In addition to his career-high production, Dupuis ended the season riding a 17-game points scoring streak. That streak will continue into the Penguins’ season-opener against the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday, January 19 in Philadelphia. Over the span of those seventeen games, Dupuis scored ten goals and registered twenty-two points.
Dupuis came to the Penguins as sort of a “throw-in” piece of the trade that brought himself and Marian Hossa to Pittsburgh from the, now-defunct, Atlanta Thrashers. The thirty-three year old forward is the only piece of the deal that is still with the organization, and could arguably be considered the most underrated part of the trade.
