Local author Rona Simmons thinks outside the box when planning her book signings. To celebrate the launch of her new novel, "The Quiet Room," she participated in a group author event held at Gallery 35, a unique art gallery located in the historic downtown area of Alpharetta. This was just the beginning of what would become a long list of unusual venues. Since her initial book launch, Rona has visited a number of places in and around Alpharetta that are not normally associated with book signings, including Queen of Hearts Antiques and Interiors in Alpharetta, Ferguson's Meat Market in Cumming, Gimme Some Suga Bakery Bar in Suwanee, and La Madeleine Country French Café in Atlanta.

This weekend Rona Simmons returns to Gallery 35 along with Julie McDermott, author of "Underwater," during the annual Alpharetta Art Streetfest event. As Rona explains, "The Gallery is one of the participants in the upcoming art festival and allows their 'artists' to display works during the festival on the sidewalk outside the Gallery." Be sure to stop by Gallery 35 and introduce yourself to Rona. Tell her Libby sent you! The Alpharetta Art Streetfest is April 26 and 27 from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
