It’s cliché to resolve to join a gym at the beginning of every New Year; not that it’s a bad idea, but gym memberships are costly. One has to consider the time, gas, and clothing options just to get to the gym. Memberships also require allowing someone access to your bank account or credit card monthly, neither of which is an appealing concept. Still, we should all resolve to get fit or at least continue to be fit. One of the best ways to do so is to sexercise!
That’s right, I said sexercise. Did you know that 30 minutes of good sex can burn 300 calories? It would take you an hour on a treadmill, running, to burn that many calories, and it wouldn’t be half as much fun.
Good sex can raise the heart rate and help you break a sweat better than any cardio machine. But what about strength training? Why yes! I’m so glad you asked. Good sex is as good as doing Pilates or lifting weights if you do it right and vary your positions.
Standard missionary position: Ladies, missionary might seem like the “lazy” girl’s choice, but it really isn’t. Raising ones arms above the head stretches arms and shoulders and helps to flatten the belly. Think Yoga! With legs wrapped around your partner’s waist, abdominal muscles get a workout from thrusting while inner thighs and quads also benefit. To work gluteal muscles while in missionary, plant your feet on the bed (knees bent) and push hips up. Squeeze kegel muscles for extra benefit that helps prevent incontinence issues in women later and pleases your man now!
Doggy-style: Want toned arms? This is the position for you! Work shoulders, forearms, and biceps while achieving deep penetration. By keeping knees planted wide and squeezing abdominal muscles, you’ll also get a double-time workout on inner and outer thighs.
Ride ‘em, cowgirl: Female on top is a fantastic way to give your bum the best workout. Rather than sitting on one’s knees, squat and rest weight on the balls of your feet. Steady yourself with hands planted either on his chest or behind you on his legs. Your gluteus maximus will thank you, and sharing your body weight with your arms also works biceps (when planted on his chest), and triceps (when holding firm to his legs).
Always make sure to check with your doctor before beginning any new exercise routine. If you’re healthy, sexercising will only improve that. Try sexercising 3-4 times a week for a minimum of 30 minutes.
By engaging in vigorous sexercise, you’ll not only become more physically fit, but you’ll increase the closeness in your relationship. Nothing bonds a couple better than good sex. And the best part is…he’s free, doesn’t take up too much room in the house, and isn’t complicated to operate!
