"Improv Calendar": Who's coming to the Addison Improv this weekend? Find out here! (with video)

We're not going to hold "Malibu's Most Wanted" against Jamie Kennedy.

Far too often, we overlook the local comedy scene here at the Comedy Examiner's Office.  With all the other shenanigans going on in the world of comedy, it's easy to get sidetracked away from home-sweet-home.  As such, we'd like to announce our newest article: "Improv Calendar", a weekly look at what comedians you can see at your local Addison Improv.  Who's up to bat?  Read on for the details, my gentle Examiner readers...

This weekend's a good weekend for comedy at the Addison Improv, located at Beltline and the Dallas North Tollway in Addison, TX.  If you need directions, head on over to the Improv's homepage to get all the details.

Tonight, friend of the Comedy Examiner Paul Varghese headlined-- too bad we didn't have this article up sooner; sorry, Paul-- but there's still plenty of opportunity for you to get your laugh fix in this weekend:  starting Friday, "Scream" and "Malibu's Most Wanted" star Jamie Kennedy is coming to the Improv stage.  Here's the schedule:

FRIDAY: 8pm, 10:30pm (at the Improv, the late show's always the show you can smoke at)

SATURDAY: 6:30pm, 9pm (if you're going to the Improv on Saturday night, always take the late show)

SUNDAY: 7pm (one show only!)

Tickets are still available through the Addison Improv box office, which you can access by following this handy-dandy link.  That link'll send you to the page for Friday night tickets, but you can adjust as needed.  Here's what the Addison Improv has to say about Jamie Kennedy, in case you forgot who he is or something:

Kennedy skyrocketed to fame with a groundbreaking performance and scene-stealing rants in Wes Craven's "Scream" and "Scream 2". He has gone on to work with some of Hollywood's biggest names, including George Clooney, Eddie Murphy, Steve Martin, and Will Smith. Currently, Kennedy can be seen starring on CBS's hit show "Ghost Whisperer" opposite Jennifer Love Hewitt. Kennedy and Hewitt will also star opposite each other in "Café," an indie drama they recently wrapped shooting. Jamie will next be seen in the upcoming films, "Finding Bliss" opposite LeeLee Sobieski and Denise Richards which is currently making a name for itself on the festival circuit and "Spring Break '83". In September of 2008 Kennedy released "Heckler," a documentary which he produced with Michael Addis.

Aaand how about some footage of Jamie Kennedy performing, just for posterity?  This is what you can expect from a Jamie Kennedy show if you heckle him while he's onstage (hint: don't ever do that):

Stay tuned for more updates on who's headed to the Addison Improv as the month goes on, Comedy Examiner readers!  Later in November, the Improv will feature other comics like Jim Florentine, Owen Benjamin, several Open Mic's, and a Christian Comedy Night.  So, hit the subscribe button up top if you want to get all the updates you'll ever need about who's headed to your friendly, neighborhood comedy club as soon as they're published!

In the meantime, check out these other recent articles from the Comedy Examiner's Office:

"New "Sherlock Holmes" trailer is even better than the last one! (with video greatness)"-- check out the latest trailer to this Christmas' "Sherlock Holmes" here.  Movie's looking awesome!

"Is Michael Jackson's "This Is It" already getting sequelized?  Find out here! (with video)"-- in which we dispell the rumor-- via parody-- that Michael Jackson's "This Is It" has more of "It" to share with us.

"Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin will host this year's Oscars"-- in which we learn the details on the 2010 Oscars: who's hosting, when it's on, and whether or not it'll be unbearably long for the 83rd year in a row.
