On Thursday night’s episode of “Impractical Jokers,” titled “Clash of the Jokers,” Tru-TV states a loud and clear warning that the following program contains scenes of graphic stupidity among four lifelong friends who compete to embarrass each other. Joe Gatto, Sal Vulcano, Brian “Q” Quinn and James “Murr” Murray would do just about anything to win a challenge.
This presentation comes from Flatiron Hall in New York City to present never-before-seen clips, where the jokers are pitted against each other. In the first group of clips, the four are in a focus group; it is Joe versus Murr against Sal versus Q. When the people file in, with Joe leading the group, Murr is a member of the group, who must answer exactly as the notes state. Asked what they use the internet most for, Murr replied that he is a sculptor and makes clay Clay Aikens models. When asked if they participate in any sports, Murr replied that he was in an adult Duck Duck Goose league. The other participants were either laughing out loud or in shock at his answers. When asked if they had any side effects from over-the-counter drugs, most replied no, but Murr said he had an itchy assh*le. When they had to name three things on their grocery list, Murr replied with, “I left that one blank,” because he was supposed to say, I live alone, so yogurt, ham and tampons. Making him the loser for the round.
When the other team went, Sal asked the questions and Q had to reply. Asked their favorite type of food; Q replied weird ethnic. Asked how they pay for their groceries when they shop; cash, credit, debit, other? The next question was name three things you watch on television. Q’s answer contained all expletives and both he and Sal won the round, as the other people in the group just stared at him in amazement.
For the next challenge, they were at the Brooklyn Cyclones baseball game, pitching their mascots. It is Sal versus Joe and Q versus Murr to get the fans to choose their mascot. But they will not know what the mascot is until the challenge begins. Joe had a picture of his mascot, “Gary the Gluten-Free Pizza” and Sal had “Elliot the Effeminate Shark.“ Finally, a man chose Gary. When Q and Murr had their turn, Murr’s was “Saladboy,” a head of lettuce wearing a baseball cap, and Q had “Salad Boy” with pickles for arms and legs, a but more animation, and also wearing a baseball cap. As they competed to get the guy to vote, he finally voted for Murr’s creation.
The next challenge was in a mall, where they had to get people to settle their silly debates and take one side. It was Joe versus Q, and they did not know what the topic was until it was given to them by the other team. They stopped a pretty woman asking her to settle the debate, each believing they are the best break dancer. Joe started off doing the robot, when Q tried to do the Worm, he looked more like a fish taking its last breaths, and Joe won, as the woman quickly walked away.
Another challenge was the guys posing as authors trying to get their books published, they did not know the title of the book until it was revealed to them. It was Murr versus Sal on this challenge. Murr’s book was “How I Discovered My Body” a coming of age tale, and Sal’s was “The Bible II” got the most votes on this challenging episode of “Impractical Jokers.”
