Update 4/24/14: Pulled by A Purposeful Rescue - and he is actually a "she!"

On April 15, a 12-year-old Labrador retriever was taken in at the South Los Angeles Animal Care and Control facility in Calif.

The dog has a name - but nobody knows what it is.

Given his age, this dog likely had an owner - but that person is nowhere to be found.

The dog surely has favorite activities - perhaps swimming in a lake, chasing after a tennis ball, or napping on a favorite bed - but while behind bars, his preferences are a mystery and his favorite activities are impossible to enjoy.

Few people walk the aisles of an animal control facility seeking out the company of a senior dog - this elderly boy is in need of help if he is to walk out of the building and go on to live out the rest of his days.
