Import Report: Fairy Fencer F

A few weeks ago NIS America announced it was localizing a PS3 RPG called Fairy Fencer F. Coincidentally this writer played and a recorded his time with the Japanese demo about a month prior to this. Now that it's been announced for the west the time has come to preview some impressions.

These are a few screenshots from the Japanese demo of Fairy Fencer F.

Based off of the demo, Fairy Fencer F is a turned based RPG with tactical elements. In battle, triggered when characters touch enemies, players will go one by one, moving on the battlefield to then attack, use items, etc. The combat system was easy enough to grasp even without a keen knowledge of Japanese. They were fast, frantic, and, thanks to the beautifully rendered art, looked amazing. Plus there are two Final Fantasy legends aboard: composer Nobuo Uematsu and artist Yoshitaka Amano.

Again, even without being able to understand anything, it was a fun demo to tide this RPG lover over until the game launches sometime in 2014. As always, stay tuned for more details regarding Fairy Fencer F.
