Immigration reform pros and cons.
Will immigration reform really help the country?
There has been so much hype over the so called immigration reform. My question is this really a good thing and besides the United States of America was molded and shaped as we know it today by immigrants and hopefuls making the journey to Ellis Island. If we all set down and took a good look at our own genealogy we would all find that some of our own relatives were immigrants. I am not saying that the United States is not having a problem with immigration or dangers because of a few renegade illegals. (Like the farmer in Arizona who was killed on his own property.) My point is this If the problem is that we need stiffer penalties for crimes be committed by a few vigilante’s that doesn’t necessarily mean that all immigrants are bad or that they come here solely to commit crimes.
My next question is since some immigrants can’t speak any form of English at all how can they understand our laws. Shouldn’t congress be trying to ensure that these people understand English so they can better understand our laws and make it safer for police officers as well as the uninformed immigrant? I think when entering our country and when they apply for a visa it should be understood that they will have to learn some English. I am not trying to downplay their culture or change their traditions but it would make it safer for law enforcement, make it easier for them to find social services and help programs and medical care if needed. They would be able to interact better with those around them and it could possibly stop hostilities from arising due to misunderstandings. It will help them to be able to read road signs there for making it safer for them to be able to drive and obtain a drivers license and prevent unnecessary accidents on the highway, saving more than one life.
It is not that I am trying to take sides; I just wish rather than congress arguing over immigration reform and making, a big deal over it when they could be creating new bills to create new jobs. It angers me that they are wasting so much time on nonsense legislation when we have more serious crisis at hand. I am not in any way trying to down play the horrific crime that happened to the poor Arizona farmer that horrible day. What I am saying congress is so worried about the illegals here and they aren’t worried at all about securing our borders. It’s as pointless as pouring water in a pitcher with a hole in it.
My final argument is that a lot of people worry about immigrants taking jobs from citizens. If congress would create more jobs and stop raising taxes so small businesses can’t survive, they wouldn’t have to

By coming here illegally they are committing a crime in the first place. Secondly, its their own fault for not knowing the laws which they would have learned by coming through the established immigration procedure. Don't try to get me to feel sorry for illegal immigrants. They are criminals...period. They have no respect for our laws or our culture...period. They are trespassing on private lands when they come across the border in some areas. They deserve what they get by their own actions. They have a choice....if they don't cross the border illegally..they won't get shot. If they choose to break the law and cross the border illegally...its their own responsibility as to what happens to them and I won't shed a tear for them what so ever.
Also...Congress does not create jobs. Private industry creates jobs.
