With all this talk of transparency filtering out of the White House, incidents of the reverse just keep stacking up. The typical spin when caught with their hands in the cookie jar of corruption is to completely ignore the problem, as if it will eventually go away. So far, it’s working to perfection.
The Benghazi massacre is still fresh, but documents, survivors and testimony are still missing in action. Smoke screens like the fiscal cliff, the sequestration and the budget has pushed many important issues to the back burner and little, or no information is forthcoming. Never-the-less, the incidents just keep piling up.
A little reported incident, recently surfaced, has the operation, ‘Fast and Furious,' moving to the back burner. There’s a new television series in town that’s reflective of the hit television drama, ‘Breaking Bad.’ This recent ICE television drama is not filmed on location in New Mexico, but right here, in El Paso, Texas. The story line is not gun running, but rather, ICE, informants and a Mexican drug cartel’s murder for hire.
ICE is involved by association with two of it’s informants, who carried out a murder for hire plot. So far, speculations has it, ICE knew of the plot before the murder actually took place and did nothing to prevent it. The Juarez drug cartel was more important.
This drama involves two murder suspects with connection to the cartel, who had the same ICE handler and as such, the Department of Homeland Security is adopting the former Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton’s train of thought. 'What difference does it make.’
ICE and the DHS refusal to cooperate with prosecutors in El Paso is nothing new, but the difference here is, unless they start to cooperate and turn over requested documents, this murder for hire will go unpunished. Since Texas is a part of the United States, there’s a pressing issue of due process, a speedy trial and so forth and so on.
One thing is for certain though, this administration loves to participate in criminal activity that often backfire. When the smoke clears, the entire administration is standing around, looking like deer in headlights, completely confused and begging to differ with any connection to the crimes.
While the White House begs to differ, ICE is ‘Breaking Bad’ in Texas.
