The sixth annual Global Cuba Fest Miami Beach will take place this weekend in Miami, Fla., March 15-17, featuring artists from Cuba, Miami, New York and Europe. The festival celebrates the roots of Cuban music and the genre’s funkiest innovations, exploring jazz, son montuno, bolero, trova, timba and Afro-Cuban rhythms. (See video below.)
The lineup of entertainment includes The Creole Choir of Cuba, Italuba, Julio Fowler, Yadam and Pavel Urkiza, Yosvany Terry and Pedrito Martinez, and Hilario Bell and Horacio Hernandez.
A free interactive concert and workshop for families with award-winning Miami-based percussionist Hilario Bell will take place at Miami Beach’s North Beach Bandshell.
