International Makeup Trade Show: Outstanding movie makeup (Photos)

When I first thought of the International Makeup Artist Tradeshow, I imagined many popular cosmetic companies like Stilla and MAC pioneer artist painting faces and selling their top products of the season to makeup fanatics. I could not have been more incorrect about the energetic and positive atmosphere. The International Makeup Artist Tradeshow better known as IMATS featured the best artist in the world and not only represented what most would call standard makeup. The event goes deep into the artistry of makeup paying tribute to the film artist in the visual effects and prosthetics field as well!

The second hall was completely dedicated to visual effect classes and featured masks from famous moves such as Hitchcock, Superman, The Grinch that Stole Christtmas and The Living Dead to name a few. Classes were held all three days with industry pros giving insight on their techniques and secrets used on their clients.

IMATS gives back every event by hosting a student competition called "Battle of the Brushes" with this year theme being OZ. The event consisted of eight talented students from around the country. The winner gets to take home $1000 dollars and a glass trophy with bragging rights.

IMATS event is held in London, Vancouver, New York, Sydney, Toronto and Los Angeles and is the premier event for anyone thats somebody in the makeup industry attracting the best makeup artist in the world. For anyone interested in makeup for film and television or just love wearing makeup-this event is definitely the "Disney Land" for just that.
