Formed in 1987, EYM is a rich and diverse supplemental learning environment where students are encouraged to grow academically, emotionally and socially. EYM offers home-study instruction during the day, after-school tutoring, Saturday preparatory classes for the SAT, ACT, ISEE and other standardized tests, and summer classes in math and English grammar and composition.

For 26 years, EYM has served over 3,500 students and their families, and will soon be offering online tutoring and career guidance through a new program, "Access No Excuse".

Every year, EYM celebrates the graduation of its senior class at its Scholarship Gala. On Monday, January 21, 2014, EYM will host its 16th Annual Gala at the LAX Marriott Hotel in Los Angeles, and Imani will be in attendance, along with other notable figures such as Los Angeles County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas, and Councilman and former California Senator Curren Price.

EYM Alumni and high school seniors will be saluted at the Gala with scholarships between $10,000 and $13,000. More than 92 percent of EYM Alumni have graduated from four-year collegiate institutions. Scholarship recipients and alumni get to mingle and interact with Imani and the other professional, entertainment, and political guests. The Scholarship Awards ceremony is directed and produced by Obba Babatunde (Ms. Evers Boys, Introducing Dorothy Dandridge), and corporate sponsors include Toyota, City National Bank, US Bank, SCE, Union Bank, and the Los Angeles Scholars Investment Fund.
